Observance of The National Mourning Day

To observe 15 August, the National Mourning Day and 47^th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a programme was held yesterday in a befitting manner by the students and the teachers of SOS Hermann Gmeiner College Dhaka. The programme started at 09:30 a. m. with the recitation from the Holy Quran by a student of class XI. Then two students and two teachers delivered their speeches. After that, the Principal of the college distributed prizes among the students who won in the Drawing competition and in the Essay writing competition, held on the occasion of the National Mourning Day. Then the Principal of the college delivered her speech. In her speech, she denounced how Bangabandhu and most of his family members were killed. She then apprised about the great contribution of the Father of the Nation for the emergence of the independence of Bangladesh as well as his tireless effort to make a golden Bangladesh. She advised the students to prepare themselves so that they can contribute to the country in making a golden Bangladesh. The whole programme ended at 10.15 a. m. It can be mentioned that students of the college composed a wall magazine and boarded it on the “Sheikh Russel Deyalika Corner” of the college.  Banners on the National Morning Day were put up on the walls of the college.
