With due respect and solemnity ,SOS Hermann Gmeiner College Dhaka observed the National Mourning Day on 15 August at “Helmut Kutin” auditorium of the college. The programme started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. After that two teachers and two students delivered their speeches expressing their grief on the tragedy and showing respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman . Then, the Principal gave away the prizes among the winners of  the Art and Quiz competitions which were held before regarding this day. A tree plantation programme sponsored by Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL)  was also held in this respect. In her speech, the Principal told the students to take a lesson from the contribution of Bangabandhu and motivate themselves to work for the country. After the discussion session the whole programme came to an end reciting poems and reading some passages from the “Incomplete Autobiography” by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
